Senior Azure Platform Engineer

At a glance

We are looking for a senior Azure Dev Ops Engineer with broad understanding of providing Azure as an Enterprise ready platform, networking, policy and governance, security controls, etc. You will be joining the platform team that develops Azure landing zones and related integrations, policies and governance for consumption by other teams within the company. This role combines architecture with engineering. As a senior engineer you are able to guide and help the team with both short-term and long-term goals.

Your job

We are looking for a senior Azure Dev Ops Engineer with broad knowledge of and passion for Microsoft Azure. As an Engineer in a Dev Ops Teams you will be contributing or leading the design and development considering security and compliance requirements and ensure the compatibility with the platform(functions). You must be able to understand ABN AMRO's IT needs and translate them to development requirements. The capabilities we develop are to enable Business Dev Ops Teams including our internal Azure customers (400+ Dev Ops teams) and enabling them to consume Azure services as self-service in a secure and compliant way.

Working environment

The Public Cloud Grid is the owner of the Financial Services Cloud Platform (FSCP) and is considered an Internal Service Provider (ISP). It is a relatively young department within the Platforms & Technology (P&T) unit that successfully drives the development of this strategic and highly automated Azure based cloud platform, one of the largest deployments within Europe.

We are implementing Azure Cloud Services as a strategic platform in a Dev Ops and Agile way of working. You will become part of an Azure Platform Dev Ops organisation, responsible for the design, development, operations and support of Azure platform products, solutions, functions, resources & capabilities. These products and solutions form the foundation of an Azure environment that enables our internal Azure consumers to consume cloud services in a compliant and secure way by default.

Together with an enthusiastic team of Azure Specialists you will take end-to-end responsibility for the products and solutions developed and owned by this team. Your team is part of a larger organisation with 10+ other Azure Dev Ops Teams working closely together to deliver value to the consumers/ business Dev Ops teams.

Your profile

• Microsoft Azure certified Solution Architect.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Azure service portfolio and latest developments.
• Proven experience with using and developing Azure Services in a senior role.
• Strong security awareness: CCSP, CISSP or other relevant certifications are recommended.
• Good experience with design and deployment of ARM templates, JSON and Power Shell.
• Knowledge and experience with YAML pipelines.
• Experience with Programming languages like C# and Python is preferred
• Experience with Azure Dev Ops, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.
• Good to have knowledge of Object-Oriented design and Development.
• Can act as a sparring partner for the development community and other cloud (Dev Ops) teams.
• Ability to translate business requirements into solutions, services and products.
• Service oriented with a growth mind-set.

We are offering

• The gross monthly salary displayed above is based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget.
• The Benefit Budget is 11% of your salary. The Benefit Budget allows you to acquire additional employment benefits. If you make no purchases or reservations in the Benefit Shop in a given month, you are paid one twelfth of your Benefit Budget that month.
• Five weeks of vacation per year. You have the option to purchase an additional four weeks per year.
• Personal development Budget of € 1,000 per year, which you can accumulate up to € 3,000.
• Possibility to work from home (in consultation with your team and depending on your position).
• An annual public transport pass with free public transportation throughout the Netherlands.
