Clinical Midwife Specialist Maori Health

Where you’ll be working: Waikato Hospital
- Coordinate and oversee the Hapū Wānanga & SUDI service across the Waikato area prioritising the needs of Wāhine Māori and other priority groups
- Ensure the delivery of antenatal curriculum Māori & kaupapa Māori philosophies
- Ensure locality based key stakeholders such as Hauora Māori and Community Partner relationships are maintained and strengthened where possible
- Provide up to date, evidence based Parenting Education to key stakeholders and support services, whom provide care to women in pregnancy up to 6 weeks postpartum
- Ensure all Service level reporting related to the service, direct reports and key stakeholder engagements are completed by the necessary deadlines
- Ensure all necessary steps are taken to mitigate risks of injury or infection to community members and participants
- Ensure all documentation on service delivery and reporting is complete and entered into the corresponding databases and/or provided to Māori Health
- Identify alignment across directorates to support organisational objectives for Māori Health & Equity within the Midwifery scope of practice
- Partner with the Primary and Secondary Maternity sectors to deliver equitable outcomes for whānau
- Current Annual Practicing Certificate of NZ
- Working with Iwi, Hapū and Whānau
- Traditional Māori Birthing Practises
