Te āheinga The opportunity
At New Plymouth District Council, we’re committed to enhancing rural infrastructure through sustainable practices and innovative solutions. As the Contracts Manager - Rural you will play a pivotal role in managing the New Plymouth Infrastructure Partnership to optimize rural road networks, ensuring cost-efficient service delivery while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Tino takohanga Key responsibilities
Actively ensure that legislative requirements and Council policies and procedures are fulfilled, particularly in relation to all key relevant legislation.
Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of road construction and maintenance projects, ensuring they meet quality, budget and timeline expectations.
Oversee customer requests to ensure a customer focused service is provided to the community.
Ensure effective contractor management processes and relationships are maintained with key contractors.
Implement quality control measures to ensure all work meets safety and engineering standards.
Support the Infrastructure team in operational delivery work and provide back up for other Contracts Managers.
Ngā tino pūkenga me ngā wheako Essential skills and experience
Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline e.g. Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience in managing road construction or maintenance contracts, preferably in rural settings.
RAMM knowledge
Familiar with industry standards and specifications.
Experience in data analysis and management including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel would be an advantage.
