About the Role
As an Electrician for our Pulp division, you will work on our industrial site and ensure that all electrical functions for the Pulpmill and Utilities department are maintained for optimal performance. While supporting both areas you will be involved with a variety of plant including Pulpmill operations, Chipmill, Bark boiler and the primary and secondary wastewater treatment plant.
You will be working on a variety of electrical systems and equipment underpinned by our DCS and PLC network. We have an extensive number of VSD’s mainly networked via Ethernet but we do have other communications protocols on site. We are one of the largest energy consumers in NZ and manage our own 11k V supply and distribution network on site. Therefore, you will work on 11 k V down to 24vdc and everything in between. In your day-to-day duties you will assist and be responsible for delivering our planned preventative maintenance programme as well as supporting breakdowns alongside the shift electricians promptly to minimise production downtime and ensuring reliability of electrical and protection systems. The opportunity to participate in capital and maintenance projects is also available.
This is a day position 8.00 – 16.30 Monday – Friday, with a requirement to be involved in the call roster which is typically 1 week every 5. This role is based at our Whirinaki site located 15 mins north of Napier.

About you
You are self-motivated with high levels of energy to get the job done. You also have:

a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a NZ registered electrician
a strong electrical aptitude and demonstrated practical experience
a logical mind-set and good fault finding capabilities
experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
knowledge and experience with VSD’s, PLCs and DCS systems is preferred
a positive outlook – team fit is a must
good communication skills
a willingness to learn
