Chess Power

Events Administrator | Permanent Part-time

Auckland

PART TIME

August 26, 2024

We are an exciting company that encourages children to play and enjoy Chess. We recognise that learning and playing Chess has a number of benefits for kids and we love what we do.
Each year we run over 250 Chess events across New Zealand. We are looking for an individual to organise those events. The specific tasks involved are to ensure all events are:
  • booked at a venue
  • documented on our internal calendar
  • detailed on our public-facing calendar
  • communicated in advance to the relevant audience regularly
  • marketed in digital marketing platforms
  • processed for registrations
  • improved in response to feedback
The role doesn't require running the events on the day or being involved on the day. It is about organising events in advance.
The role is well established with someone in this role for several years now. That person is leaving Chess Power to pursue new opportunities, so we are looking for someone to take over the role.
There are some essential and required character traits for being a great event administrator:
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • An ability to prioritise tasks
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Proficient with technology and IT systems and digital marketing platforms
  • Reliable, able to work without supervision and punctual
  • The role would suit someone who is an achiever, loves arranging things, focussed, persistent and with the ability to work independently. Another critical skill for this role is to plan ahead so events are managed and advertised well in advance.
If successful in gaining this role, we will provide training through the current person in this role. We will provide you with all the resources you need to organise our events.
The role is very flexible. You will need to work 20 hours per week but you can choose when you work these hours. You can also work from anywhere you like, including from home. You will just need a reliable internet connection and a PC/laptop.
If this sounds like you then apply now with a cover letter and your CV!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 – $27.50 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
Benefits:
  • Work from home
Application Question(s):
  • Have you attached your cover letter?
Application Deadline: 03/09/2022
Expected Start Date: 11/09/2024
