Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a permanent, full-time Health and Wellbeing Promoter that is focused on improving and embedding student wellbeing into the fabric of the University.
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide advice, resources, training and presentations to staff and student leaders and take a key role in implementing Ki te rā - Student Wellbeing Outcomes Framework.
  • Provide wellbeing expertise for the development and implementation of the peer support programmes, and wellbeing communication and events provided by the Manawa Ora - Student Wellbeing.
This work is closely informed by internal and external wellbeing expertise, professional health and wellbeing promotion approaches, and is student centered.
Ō pūmanawa - About you
You will have:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and experience in health and wellbeing promotion, public health, community development or other relevant qualification.
  • Experience in leading others to provide a high-quality client service.
  • Experience in implementing wellbeing best practice.
  • Commitment to application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in an educational context.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, organisational skills and the ability to work proactively.
  • Proven experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes, events and initiatives.
  • Proven experience in building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and working collaboratively to achieve goals.
  • Proven and relevant experience developing programmes and events for equity groups such as Māori, Pasifika, LGBTQIA+ and Takatāpui, International, Disability, Refugee-Background communities.
  • Proven ability to influence others and to innovate.
  • Excellent skills in conflict resolution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentations.
