THE OPPORTUNITY


An exciting opportunity presents for an experienced and driven Management Accountant to join our team and contribute to our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement within both the team and the broader Group. Reporting to the Commercial Manager NZ, your key responsibility will be to foster strong relationships with various business departments. You will play a vital role in understanding business activities and supporting and challenging the financial performance of the business. Your efforts will help achieve operational excellence and ensure that accurate financial information is available to guide future decision making.


This position will be permanent, full-time, and located in our Nelson office.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Completion of monthly accounting procedures in accordance with accounting standards.
• Preparation of monthly P&L statements and budgets
• Analysis of financial results and provision of proactive feedback to the management team
• Maintain GL entries and reconcile accounts as required
• Supervision of a small team
• Ensure stock valuations are conducted in line with standards and corporate policies
• Review proposals for major capital expenditures to ensure their conformity with corporate plans and their justification on economic grounds.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.

ABOUT YOU

• Degree qualified in Accounting
• CA or CPA or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Manufacturing or Building industry background is desired
• Experience evaluating and improving processes and controls within a complex commercial environment is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven analytical background
• Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of MYOB Cloud and Oracle is preferred
