Regional Network Programme Manager - Regional Cancer Service Delivery Network

Contribute to transforming the future of health and cancer service delivery across the region by providing leadership of the Regional Cancer Service Delivery Network. The Regional Clinical Lead Cancer Service Delivery will provide leadership to deliver on strategic, nationwide, approaches at the regional level reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive. The role will drive integrated service delivery to ensure provision of care, which is equitable throughout the region, high quality, sustainable, and whānau-centered.
  • 1.0FTE role for three years
  • Four roles, one for each region
The Opportunity
In this role you will drive integrated service delivery, ensuring the provision of care is equitable throughout your region. You will work in partnership with the Regional Cancer Clinical Lead to focus on priorities including:
  • Development and implementation of updated service delivery models to ensure increased capacity and distribution of medical oncology care, associated with the Government's increasing access to medicines initiative
  • The trajectory of improvement to deliver the Faster Cancer Treatment Health Target by 2030
  • Networked ways of working moving from local to regional
  • Working with District Directors, Clinical Leads and Managers to organise and manage regional operational processes to maximise service delivery capacity and ensure equitable, timely access to care
  • Implementation of nationwide service delivery models to meet regional needs
  • Leading unification of the provision of care throughout the region, ensuring consistent service delivery
  • Reducing variation in clinical practice and access to services across the region
Initially you will be focused on the implementation of updated service delivery models for cancer medicines within the increasing access to medicines initiative and integrated models of care for the delivery of Faster Cancer Treatments. Day to day you'll be accountable for directing implementation of initiatives as well as driving change through programme management and strategic relationships.
You will have excellent relationship building skills as you will be working alongside the National Cancer Clinical Network, National Cancer Service Delivery Forum, Planning Funding and Outcomes, and the three other regional cancer Service Delivery Network Managers to ensure nationwide success.
Skills and experience
  • Excellent relationship development and management skills
  • Change management and operational background delivery experience
  • A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
  • Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action or improving indigenous health
