Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
Example
The purpose of this role is to contribute to, and develop and lead, research and consultancy projects that relate to soil chemistry with a focus on trace elements, environmental contaminants and soil carbon, to improve degraded land and restore and better manage urban, agricultural and native ecosystems.
This position is permanent, full time, reports to Capability Leader, Land Use and Ecosystems, and is based at our Lincoln site.
Ō pūmanawa | About you
You will possess a Ph D in Environmental Science with a strong background in environmental chemistry and soil science, with 5-7 years' work experience and will have some refereed publications, inclusive of lead authorship. You will demonstrate experience and knowledge of the chemistry of trace elements, environmental contaminants, and carbon in relation to ecosystem function and soil health. You will have expertise in soil pedology and experience in leading and conducting fieldwork, including soil and plant sampling. Competence in multivariate statistical analysis and geospatial analysis is required. Experience with working with stakeholder, including landowners, and government officials in a policy and regulatory environment is advantageous. You will be a well-organized, flexible, pragmatic, and reliable individual who enjoys working alone or as part of a team. The ability to work to high standards and within deadlines is essential.
