Position Purpose: The purpose of the Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor position is to provide
outstanding leadership in teaching, research and health workforce
development. Teaching within undergraduate and postgraduate nursing
programmes, undertaking high-quality research, supervising students in
doctoral and master’s programmes, mentoring emerging researchers, and
providing academic administrative and professional service to the School,
University and Nursing profession. Additionally, the role will strengthen
nursing, health sector, Iwi, and community relationships.

About this area The School of Nursing is within the College of Health, Te Kura Hauora Tangata.
In line with the philosophy of Hauora, the College of Health’s strategic
approach to learning, teaching and research is to view optimal health and
wellbeing as the outcome of multiple factors encompassing individual
differences, diversity, social determinants of health and environmental
interactions. The School of Nursing works closely with hospitals and health
organisations in Aotearoa New Zealand and around the world, to improve the
health of people and their communities. The Associate Professor / Senior
Lecturer position contributes to the teaching, academic and professional
supervision, and the research outputs of the School of Nursing’s nationally and
internationally regarded programmes, with staff demonstrating excellence in
learning, teaching, research, health sector and wider industry and community
engagement.
