Reporting to the Technician Team Leader, this role involves performing installation, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, testing and commissioning on a wide range of electricity supply industry plant including primary and secondary equipment, control equipment and instrumentation as well as assisting in tendering for project/maintenance work.
There is a strong element of customer relations which requires the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with inspectors, distribution customers, generation customers and Delta staff. Ensuring customer satisfaction by proactively addressing and resolving loss of supply to customers is an important function in this role.

- Full Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Registration and current Practicing License or EWRB Limited Practicing License or a letter from the EWRB stating that you are eligible to apply for a EWRB Limited Practicing License.
- Full Class 1 New Zealand or international equivalent driver’s license.
- 3+ years' HV industry experience.
- Proven technical experience in high voltage zone substations environment SCADA, protection relay configuration and testing.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and carrying our As-Builts on drawings.
- Desirable, but not essential: Ability to work on battery banks, charger systems, multiple input protection systems, HV cables, secondary cables, HV circuit breakers, power transformers, single input protection relays and test instruments.
- This is a full-time, permanent role working a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Overtime is paid after 40 hours at a rate of time and a half.
- The wage range for this role is $46-$53/hour (gross) - dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- This role is primarily based in Cromwell, Central Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand.
