Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a strategic project-based role, the Wellington Schools Partnership Manager, to sit within the Tumu Whakauru - Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Students portfolio on a fixed-term, full-time contract until February 2026. This role will be responsible for maintaining existing relationships with secondary schools and developing new initiatives that support partnerships with Wellington schools.
Key responsibilities:

Project manage and deliver customised school engagement programmes that increase the University’s brand awareness in the wider Wellington market.
Provide advice to identify opportunities and influence priority setting in the area of secondary-tertiary transitions.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to enhance the recruitment potential of key partnership programmes (e.g. Vic Start).
Develop and maintain positive and productive internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, especially ones which will enhance the University’s student recruitment capabilities.

Key requirements:

Extensive knowledge of and experience at a senior level in student recruitment, marketing or business development and broader areas of education, preferably in the tertiary system.
Extensive and demonstrable experience in project management, implementation and evaluation.
A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent mix of education and experience.
High-level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Proven commitment to the value of education, equal opportunities and to the personal and academic development of students.
Extensive experience in analysis and report writing.
