RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all construction activities related to electric distribution systems, including overhead and underground line construction, substations, and related infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all phases of construction.
- Prepare project budgets, monitor expenditures, and control costs to ensure projects stay within budget.
- Ensure all project documentation, including permits, contracts, and change orders, are properly managed and maintained.
- Lead and supervise a team of linesmen and contractors.
- Provide direction and support to ensure that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review project progress, address challenges, and promote a collaborative work environment.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Ensure that all construction activities meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, including OSHA standards, to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment for all linesmen.
- Allocate resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure project efficiency.
- Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as necessary to meet project demands.
- Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment required for construction
- Combination of office-based and field work, with frequent site visits.
- Maintain accurate records of construction activities, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in electric distribution construction or related fields, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale electric distribution projects.
- In-depth knowledge of electric distribution systems, including overhead and underground construction methods.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations (e.g. IEC, OSHA).
- Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
