Job Position: Procurement Officer
Job Location: Kano
Employment Type: Fulltime
Job Description
- The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement of all necessary items, products or service for the factory.
- This role involves sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining cost-effectiveness while adhering to quality standards.
- Research and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain and update the vendor database regularly.
- Request and compare quotations from vendors to obtain the best deals.
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery of purchased items.
- Review the quality of purchased products and immediately report any faulty items.
- Ensure availability of warranties and after-sales support for purchased items.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms (discounts, credit facilities, etc.).
- Ensure all purchase orders (POs) are approved regularly as commitments.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure uninterrupted supply.
- Abide by the Approved Items Booklet and quality standards for all procurements
- Arrange transportation for receiving items when required.
- Fill and sign the "Material Received Form" (MRF) to document received goods.
- Visit the market to conduct price analysis and document findings.
- Obtain cost-effective deals and ensure purchases align with budget constraints.
- Monitor and manage expenditures related to procurement activities.
- Conduct regular reviews to identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures.
- Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and vendor performance.
- Assist management with any reasonable tasks assigned to support procurement operations.
