Project Manager

Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
· Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
· Coordinate with stakeholders to align on project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
· Lead project kick-off meetings, monitor project progress throughout the project lifecycle.
· Implement effective project management methodologies to ensure successful project delivery.
· Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to proactively minimize their impact.
· Maintain a risk register and communicate risks to stakeholders as appropriate.
· Monitor external factors that may affect project outcomes and adjust plans accordingly.
· Develop project implementation report for both internal and external stakeholders.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
· Provide leadership and direction to local project implementation team.
· Foster a collaborative team environment conducive to achievement of project milestones.
· Facilitate communication among team members, ensuring everyone is informed and engaged.
· Motivate team members to achieve project goals and overcome challenges.
· Conduct regular team meetings to assess progress, discuss issues, and make decisions.
Research Implementation:
· Oversee the implementation of local field research activities in line with defined methodology and quality
assurance standards.
· Collaborate with researchers and subject matter experts to gather relevant data and support M&E activities.
· Analyse research findings to inform project decisions and strategy.
· Ensure that research activities align with project goals and timelines.
· Present research findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
· Work with the larger project team to translate project goals and objectives into actionable plans, ensuring
alignment with research protocols, timelines, and budgets.
· Act as a bridge between the research team and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, alignment of
interests, and mutual understanding of project objectives and expectations.
Budget and Resource Management:
· Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
· Allocate resources efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize waste.
· Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers as needed.
· Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as necessary to meet project requirements.
Qualifications
· Adequate knowledge of the creative and cultural industries.
· At least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, project management or relevant degree from the social
sciences, economics, development studies, public policy, or related disciplines.
· Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience with proven project management capabilities.
· Proficiency in research project management methodologies such as PRINCE 2 or other related methods.
· Experience in administering surveys and conducting research interviews, and data visualisation tools (e.g.,
Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.
· Demonstrated ability to effectively engage and manage diverse stakeholders, build consensus, and navigate
complex political, cultural, and institutional environments.
· Strong commitment to ethical research practices, integrity, and professionalism, with a demonstrated passion
for teamwork.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts and research
findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, compelling, and accessible manner.
· Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in
a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Fluency in English is required; proficiency in local languages relevant to the project sites is desirable.
· Willingness to travel extensively within Nigeria as needed.
