Job Description (Summary)
As the Senior BDM, you will be responsible for leading the business development team, managing daily sales operations, and ensuring the achievement of revenue targets. This role requires a strategic thinker who can predict future customer needs, drive upsell and cross-sell initiatives, and effectively relay information from upper management to the sales team. You will play a key role in shaping the company’s sales strategies and ensuring the continuous growth of the business.
Revenue Growth and Sales Strategy:
Meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets for assigned business lines, ensuring consistent business growth.
Develop and expand sales pipelines, targeting a 20% month-on-month growth and a 50% overall increase in revenue.
Surpass the minimum product and services sales profitability threshold, with a target of 35% quarterly (excluding platform revenue).
Drive service business growth, aiming for a 45% annual growth in revenue and 20% year-on-year growth.
Client Engagement and Partnership Development:
Work closely with the service management team to scale existing managed services and predict future customer needs for product upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Create new platform-related partnerships, with a target of establishing 3 new partners/customers within 12 months.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and long-term engagement.
Team Leadership and Performance Management:
Provide leadership to the sales/business development team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, and ethical behavior.
Establish guiding principles for managing performance, prioritize critical performance measures for all sales activities, and regularly communicate status, plans, and campaigns to ensure alignment.
Produce and deliver weekly and monthly sales engagement plans, as well as pipeline and lead data reports, providing key business insights to management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
MBA or equivalent degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of Business Development experience, with a demonstrated track record of sales achievement in value-based selling roles.
In-depth knowledge of the ICT market in Nigeria, particularly in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster a culture of high performance and accountability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members.
Proven experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies, with a focus on revenue growth and market expansion.
Proficiency in using CRM tools, sales management software, and other relevant technologies.
Certifications in Sales, Relationship Management, or Marketing are preferred.
