What you can expect
The Norway Projects and Engineering / Exploration and Subsurface teams comprise of internationally experienced individuals tasked with the maturation of discoveries and development opportunities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. During the early development phase close cooperation between the Early Phase Projects and Exploration teams ensures subsurface and other project risks are identified and mitigated at an early stage, in addition to identification of potential opportunities. In total the subsurface community in Wintershall Dea Norway comprises of more than 100 staff and consultants engaged in activities related to operated and partner-operated exploration, development and production assets.
As a Senior Reservoir Engineer you will report to a Subsurface Manager in either Early Phase projects or Exploration and Subsurface and can expect to:
- Contribute to reservoir management, gather and process reservoir data for decision making, collaborate efficiently with subsurface team.
- Evaluate different potential field development options & drainage strategies.
- Integrated reservoir modelling - holistic approach to production modelling including uncertainties and sensitives.
- QC of dynamic model input data (PVT, SCAL, etc)
- Contribute to ongoing reservoir model updates and make sure that results from modelling are communicated efficiently within the subsurface team and to management.
- History matching and planning/analyzing well test results
- Take responsibility for delivering production profiles and reserves for internal/external reporting and planning
- Prepare high quality presentation material to be communicated in license and to various stakeholders
What we expect
Education requirements
- Relevant University degree
Work experience
- Minimum 5-8 years experience within subsurface work in the oil and gas industry
- Operational and project experience is an advantage
Personal qualities and preferred skills

- Excellent communication and cooperation skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high tempo environment ECLIPSE and TNAV experience
- Petrel working knowledge
- Petroleum Experts tools (IPM)
- Coding skills (Python, VBA) with focus on scientific programming is advantageous
- Good understanding of statistics (Bayesian methods) for data science
- Good understanding of uncertainty and risk analysis and modelling
- Experience with Ensemble based modelling is positive but not a requirement
- Experience with Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA)
- Overview over current digital solutions in the industry
- Previous experience with license work on NCS is a desired advantage
Language skills
- Fluency in English, oral and written
