Job Description: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. You will work closely with the company director and other team members to maintain financial procedures and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing financial statements and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process invoices, expense claims, and payments efficiently while ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including maintaining accurate records and resolving discrepancies.
• Facilitate month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings as required.
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial procedures and internal controls.
• Provide support for audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting tasks as assigned.
• Reconciliation and adjustment of payable amounts. Reconciliation of vendor statements to accounts payable records and solving discrepancies.
• Processing weekly check runs for domestic and corporate payables.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven work experience as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar role.
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP) and MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• Experience in the freight forwarding or logistics industry would be advantageous.
