About Pakistan Climate Smart Agriculture:
The recently awarded five-year USAID/Pakistan Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) activity is part of the U.S.-Pakistan "Green Alliance" framework, aimed at fostering bilateral cooperation to address climate, environmental, and economic challenges. This initiative focuses on building resilience within farming communities by promoting the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies. By increasing agricultural productivity and incomes sustainably, the CSA activity aligns with USAID’s goals of inclusive economic growth, gender equity, and environmental stewardship. Activities will be implemented in a context-sensitive manner to promote increased agricultural productivity; higher resilience to climate change; and economic participation and greater incomes of socially marginalized groups, women, and girls at different stages of agricultural production and processing. In partnering with the private sector, civil society, and government stakeholders, Pakistan aims to maximize the effectiveness and impact of investments. Targeted project interventions will be conducted in Punjab, Sindh, KP, and Balochistan provinces. This project is implemented by The Kaizen Company on behalf of Tetra Tech.

Overview
This driver will support the USAID Climate Smart Agriculture Activity (CSA). The ideal candidate will have expertise in safe driving protocols, vehicle maintenance, and supporting logistical tasks. This position shall report to the Security Advisor. The drivers will manage transportation for CSA staff and vehicle maintenance to ensure vehicles are safe to operate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Kaizen-assigned office vehicle(s) safely as and when instructed by Kaizen-authorized personnel.
  • Chauffeur CSA staff and guests to appointed destinations within given timeframes, as directed.
  • Maintain vehicle logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
  • Ensure prompt reporting to the supervisor of any damage or repair needed to the assigned vehicle.
  • Maintain accident reports and inform the supervisor in case of any incidents.
  • Ensure that allocated vehicle(s) has/have valid insurance policy coverage, first aid kits, road-worthy licenses, and any further appropriate licenses or permits required.
  • Inform the Security Advisor one month before the expiration of any insurance coverage, license, or permit.
  • Responsible for the general cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the vehicle: body, chassis, engine, etc.
  • Ensure the safety of passengers through safe driving practices, including but not limited to:
    • Using a seat belt and reminding passengers to use seat belts o Driving within speed limits and in accordance with traffic regulations.
    • Driving defensively and courteously.
  • Ensure loading and off-loading of items in and out of an assigned vehicle.
  • Adhere to and respect Pakistan’s traffic rules and regulations as well as Kaizen vehicle and policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the assigned vehicle always carries essential tools and materials (e.g., spare tire, jack, belts, ropes, different types of spanners, jacks etc.)
  • Assist/supervise mechanics during service and maintenance of the assigned vehicle and ensure that service records are monitored and updated.
  • Check the vehicle(s) daily to ensure that the vehicle is maintained and in good condition.
  • Perform minor and routine maintenance on assigned vehicles and identify and report maintenance problems to the Security Advisor, as required.
  • Ensure that vehicle tires are serviced and maintained at the pressures recommended in the vehicle manual for the appropriate road speed and vehicle loading.
  • Participate in professional training and development activities, as needed or requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Required:
    • Valid Pakistani driver’s license
    • 10 years driving experience of cars and 4x4 vehicles, including a minimum of 5 years experience with USAID, UN agencies, International NGOs, or Foreign Missions working in Pakistan.
    • Pakistani National
    • Matriculation or above
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent knowledge of roads and routes of Islamabad, Punjab, Balochistan and KP.
    • Well-versed with highway codes and road safety.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends.
    • Technical Knowledge of vehicle including,
      • Vehicle Maintenance and mechanics
      • Vehicle inspection and troubleshooting
      • Vehicle safety features and protocols
  • Preferred
    • Familiarity with USAID regulations and compliance
    • Defensive driving training certificate from any reliable authority such as UNDSS
    • Armored Vehicle driving certificate.
    • First Aid and travel safety training certificates
    • Basic English Language Skills (written & spoken.)
Salary
The annual salary will be determined in line with background and experience, per the local compensation plan. A standard benefits package will be offered.
