Position Summary:
The Medical Billing Intern will assist the billing department in various tasks related to medical billing and coding processes. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing and reviewing medical billing claims to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support the preparation and submission of insurance claims, including verifying patient and insurance information.
- Perform data entry tasks, ensuring that patient records and billing information are accurately maintained.
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to resolve billing issues and address inquiries.
- Assist in reconciling patient accounts and addressing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the billing team to improve processes and workflows.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and billing codes to ensure compliance with current standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Science, Pharmacy or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with medical billing and coding terminology is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
