Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) seeks a Manager for Communications and Knowledge
Management in the LAC region to enhance housing market initiatives for the Terwilliger Center for Innovation
in Shelter (TCIS). This role involves implementing TCIS’s market influence strategy through strategic
communications and knowledge management, as well as coordinating research efforts to address affordable
housing challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, relationship-building, and
strategic planning skills, along with a deep understanding of the LAC housing landscape. This role reports to
the Regional Director LAC with cross-functional reporting to the Market Influence team. The goal is to connect
with the Market Influence Team and programmatic priorities, improving the quality and effectiveness of
TCIS’s research and targeting knowledge gaps in affordable housing.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

**Develop and implement a cohesive Market Influence and Communications Strategy for TCIS regional
operations in LAC (35%)
o Create and implement a strategic communications plan that aligns with TCIS Market influence
objectives and support programmatic teams in the LAC region
o Develop and maintain a stakeholder map of influential entities and individuals in the LAC market, ensuring alignment with the Market Influence agenda
o Leverage and align communications assets and knowledge products and messaging across TCIS by liaising with communications and MEAL colleagues worldwide.
o Interpret Terwilliger Center research, programming, and expertise for strategically important audiences
o Identify and utilize appropriate communications channels to effectively deliver Terwilliger Center content to strategically important audiences.
o Develop and track metrics to assess the progress of the Terwilliger Center communications strategy and ensure it is updated each year to reflect learnings and any relevant shifts in organizational strategy.
o Draft talking points, opinion articles and other public communications for the Terwillger Center’s Regional Director for LAC and members of HFHI’s senior leadership
o Work with the TCIS monitoring, accountability, and learning (MEAL) Associate Director and Knowledge Management Manager
o Support the collaborative design of research and clear linkages between learning and influence.
o Develop and track metrics to assess the progress of the sub-regional communications strategy and ensure it is updated each year
**Lead Knowledge Management and Learning Initiatives (35%)
o Develop and implement a comprehensive knowledge management strategy, that aligns with the TCIS global KM strategy, with the focus of capturing, organizing and sharing knowledge within and outside the team
o Coordinate and team learning agenda, supporting teams with developing and refining their learning questions and implementing process that support data gathering, insights and research to inform the wider TCIS learning framework
o Collaborate with the Associate Director, MEAL and Influence and KM Manager to facilitate capacity development sessions and learning materials
o Collaborate with teams to establish clear linkages between learning and influence through all programmatic activities
o Review and troubleshoot learning processes routinely and adjust strategies to support a learning-oriented culture

**Oversee the tactical communications support and business development asset requirements of TCIS in LAC (20%)
o Develop tools, systems and processes to ensure consistent delivery of communications support and appropriate content management, including communication support request tool and workflow, media coverage database, media prospect database, publications database, among others.
o Review Scopes of Work, Requests for Proposals, Contracts, MOUs and other relevant partnership documents to ensure communications needs and policies are appropriately and thoroughly represented.
o Review, layout and edit technical content developed by the Terwilliger Center’s program teams – including journal articles, market research, outcomes assessments and program case studies – to ensure content clarity and brand compliance.
**Ensure internal alignment across HFHI’s global communications team (10%)
o Develop content and help guide the presence, quality and variety of Terwilliger Center material across Habitat for Humanity’s print and digital channels, including ctivperu.org, regional and TCIS newsletters, social media etc.; contribute to content for Habitat.org and HFHI annual report as required
o Serve as an internal subject matter expert on the Terwilliger Center’s programs and strategy in LAC for any team or department with dependencies to the Terwilliger Center.
o Enforce brand compliance and adherence to HFHI’s communications policies, while serving as a solution-oriented partner for program teams and an internal advocate for their communications needs.

Minimum Requirements:
**Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in communications, political or social science, international development, economics, urban development or related field. Master degree in related fields is a plus.
o Master degree in related fields is a plus.
**Years of Related Experience:
o 10+ years in communications and learning work, especially independently managing projects with multiple stakeholders
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
o Proficiency in building creative concepts and demonstrated ability to see projects through to completion
o Minimum of 2 years in knowledge sharing methods such as online content curation or discussion facilitation
o Strong facilitation skills (on-line and in-person)
o Ability to write, edit, evaluate and curate strong content and design related to international development and/or market and finance systems and other technical areas while meeting brand, marketing and messaging needs.
o Ability to lead the creation of complete content packages; established experience with photo selection, design collaboration, video scripting, storytelling, media engagement, writing for web, social media, etc. all in the service of furthering and maintaining brand standards, while raising awareness of an entity such as the Terwilliger Center
o Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural competencies and problem-solving skills, as well as organizational and project management skills, that demonstrate an ability to successfully collaborate with a variety of departments and stakeholders

Preferred Requirements (in addition to minimum):
o Previous nonprofit experience or international development experience
o Previous experience with cross-functional reporting and/or matrixed organization structures
o Previous experience working within a globally distributed team or organization
o Experience with executive communications
o Experience with content marketing, creative campaigns, diverse social platforms and SEO
o Competency with Adobe design and editing software, including Illustrator, In Design, Light Room and/or Premiere Pro
o Experience with photography and/or videography
