Laboratory Technician - College of Nursing

Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory activities across various disciplines. Primary duties include assisting faculty and students in conducting experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards and protocols. Responsible in contributing to the preparation of materials and solutions used in laboratory exercises, as well as assist in the inventory management of supplies.
Responsibilities:

Assist faculty and students in conducting laboratory experiments and exercises.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of laboratory facilities.
Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
Prepare materials and solutions for laboratory experiments as per instructions.
Monitor inventory levels and request supplies as needed.
Adhere to safety standards and protocols in handling chemicals and hazardous materials.
Record and report experimental data accurately and timely.
Support faculty in administrative tasks related to laboratory activities.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in any allied health course
Proven experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in an educational institution.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instruments.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols related to laboratory work.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
Previous experience in a similar role within an academic environment.
Certification in Laboratory Techniques or relevant training courses.
Knowledge of Philippine regulatory requirements for laboratory operations.
