How you will make an impact:
As a Senior Backend Software Engineer at Iterable, you'll be responsible for the core product for engineering Iterable used by our growing customer base. In this role, the focus is working on projects/efforts that have strategic value for the company while driving technical design and up-leveling the team. We are looking to hire senior backend software engineers across multiple scrum teams. You will have the opportunity to work within the teams in Lisbon and across teams in the US where there might be dependencies across functional areas. You will be responsible for multiple functional initiatives, utilizing technologies such as Scala, Graph QL, Redis, CRDB, Postgres and Elastic Search, to help our customers leverage user data and build innovative personalization.

We are looking for people who have:

• 5+ years relevant software development experience.
• Relevant industry experience building production-ready, scalable web applications.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (ideally Scala and/or Java)
• Extensive experience with Elasticsearch and/or other relevant technologies like Postgres.
• Desire to work in a highly remote/distributed but collaborative environment. (Iterable has offices in San Francisco, Denver, and New York, but the vast majority of Engineering has chosen to work remotely)
• Willingness to take on-call responsibilities.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Legally authorized to work in the EU.
