Overview:
CHS invites applications for a Simulation Education Specialist, a role vital to enhancing our students' practical learning experiences through innovative simulation techniques. This position is integral to fostering a realistic clinical training environment across our eight specialized departments. The Simulation Education Specialist will work collaboratively with faculty to ensure that simulation activities are effectively integrated into educational programs, allowing students to develop their clinical skills in a safe and controlled environment.

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), State of Qatar, currently houses eight Departments: Nursing and Midwifery, Respiratory Therapy, Medical Radiography, Paramedicine, Dental Hygiene, Pharmacy Technology, Diabetes Care and Patient Education, and Environmental Health & Occupational Health and Safety.

Responsibilities:
1. Program Development and Coordination:
- Partner with department heads and faculty to design, implement, and manage simulation-based learning activities tailored to the specific educational needs and outcomes of each department.
- Develop comprehensive simulation scenarios that align with curricular goals and enhance clinical competencies across various disciplines.
2. Simulation Operations and Technology Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the simulation labs, ensuring all equipment and resources are available and functioning efficiently.
- Manage and maintain a diverse range of simulation technologies, including high, medium, and low fidelity mannequins, task trainers, and computer-based simulation programs.
3. Facilitation and Instruction:
- Lead and facilitate simulation sessions, providing both technical support and instructional guidance to students and faculty participants.
- Conduct pre-briefing and debriefing sessions that focus on reflection and learning outcomes evaluation, reinforcing critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills.
4. Education and Faculty Development:
- Provide training workshops and one-on-one guidance to faculty and staff on the effective use of simulation tools and methodologies.
- Develop and deliver educational resources and materials that enhance the quality of simulation instruction.
5. Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation activities, collecting data to inform iterative improvements.
- Provide feedback to students and faculty to facilitate continuous learning and development.
6. Research and Innovation:
- Participate in scholarly research related to simulation-based education and contribute to academic publications or presentations.
- Stay informed on the latest technological advancements and educational strategies in simulation, integrating innovative approaches into program offerings.
- Educational Background:
- A Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field is required.
- A Master's degree in Healthcare Simulation Education.

Certifications: - Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or equivalent certification.

Experience: - At least 3 years of professional experience in healthcare simulation education, and simulation program management.

Skills: - Proficiency with a variety of simulation technologies and software.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
