We are hiring an experienced SQL Server Administrator who has experience in the following
Core Technical Skills:
1.**Installation & Configuration:

• Installing and configuring SQL Server instances
• SQL Server on-premises vs. cloud installations (e.g., Azure SQL Database)
• SQL Server Configuration Manager for managing services and network configurations

2.**Backup & Recovery:

• Backup strategies: Full, differential, transaction log backups
• Restoring databases using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
• Automating backups with Maintenance Plans or T-SQL scripts

3.**Performance Tuning:

• Query performance tuning and indexing strategies
• SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, and Query Store for performance analysis
• Managing deadlocks, blocking, and I/O bottlenecks
• Optimizing server hardware resources like memory, CPU, and storage

4.**Security Management:

• Managing user roles, permissions, and database ownership
• SQL Server encryption (Transparent Data Encryption - TDE)
• Implementing auditing for security compliance
• Securing data transmission using SSL/TLS

5.**High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HADR):

• SQL Server Always On Availability Groups for high availability
• Log shipping, mirroring, and replication strategies
• SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances (FCI)
• Developing and testing disaster recovery plans

6.**Database Maintenance:

• Setting up automated jobs for index defragmentation and statistics updates
• Performing consistency checks with DBCC CHECKDB
• Automating maintenance with SQL Server Agent and scheduled jobs

7.**Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

• Monitoring using SQL Server Performance Monitor (Perf Mon) and Dynamic Management Views (DMVs)
• Configuring alerts and notifications for performance and system health
• Tracking activity with SQL Server Activity Monitor and system logs

8.**Data Management & Partitioning:

• Implementing table and index partitioning for large datasets
• Managing filegroups and optimizing disk allocation
• Data archiving and purging strategies

9.**Upgrades & Patching:

• Applying cumulative updates, service packs, and hotfixes
• Migrating databases between versions using backup/restore or Data Migration Assistant (DMA)
• Testing patches in staging environments before production deployment

10.**Scripting & Automation:

• Writing complex T-SQL scripts for automation
• Power Shell scripting for SQL Server management tasks
• Automating database deployments with SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) and Dev Ops tools

11.**Storage Management:

• Managing SQL Server storage using SAN/NAS
• Optimizing Temp DB and data file performance
• Implementing disk partitioning and RAID configurations

12.**Cloud Integration:

• Working with Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Virtual Machines (VMs)
• SQL Server backups to Azure Blob storage
• Managing hybrid database environments (on-premises and cloud)
