Description & Requirements
New opportunity within our large Engineering organization for a Test Engineer as part of a new opening position in Connectivity Test Center. This role will be part of a new team based in Bucharest which will work closely with the wider team. This is a newly formed team. Our goal is to build out our Connectivity Test Coordinating team operating from our strategic site in Bucharest providing experienced and dynamic team members to support multiple roles across our portfolio of global projects. This is an extremely exciting time to get involved, to help develop and shape innovative technology and drive change throughout the organization.
What You Will Do
- Review software specifications and testing procedures
- Create, update and review test scripts
- Execute automated test cases
- Create and update documentation for the testing procedures
- Create detailed reports of the executed test cases
- Analyze error logs to help identify the root cause of a failure
- Follow bug reporting and tracking process
- Follow the industry and project standards in relation to the development processes
- Act according to the standards of the Automotive industry and in-car applications
- Identify software issues and transfers problem issues into the issue tracking system with supporting log files and data
- Record, process, and analyze data with PC-based tools and test instrumentation.
- Participate in internal and customer test drives. Provide technical support for the resolution of various customer and interdepartmental issues on an as-needed basis
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other similar specialization
- Good programming knowledge in Python (3+ years of experience)
- Good analytical skills to understand, evaluate, and provide solution for given complex scenarios and case studies
- Hands-on experience with any market-available test frameworks or customer-proprietary test framework
- Version Control Systems experience (preferably Git)
- Hands-on experience in code development, debugging, and troubleshooting
- Good understanding of Embedded Systems and Automotive Products
- Understand the SW and HW architecture of various platform variants
- Good knowledge and understanding of the different Telematics domains like OTA, GNSS, E-Call, Positioning, 4G/5G, Wifi, V2X, Remote Services, Security
- Good experience in test methods, processes, error management and tools
- Knowledge of standard industry communication protocols: CAN, LIN, Ethernet etc
- Team player skills with a “can do” attitude
- Understanding the diagnosis topics of a vehicle and diagnostic communication protocols used in electronic control units.
- Knowledge of the V-model software development process
What is Nice to Have
- ISTQB Certification and ASPICE knowledge
- Knowledge of Python frameworks like Robot or Pychamp
- Automation/engineering domain script development (hands-on) experience with Python
- Knowledge of repository software like Jira, IBM tools
- Experience in Agile/SCRUM
- HW experience with the configuration of different setups
- Knowledge in ALM is beneficial
