About the Team
The Search team is mainly responsible for the search algorithm innovation and architecture research and development of Douyin, international short video, Jinri Tou Tiao, Watermelon video and other products, as well as e-commerce, life services and other businesses. We use cutting-edge machine learning technology for end-to-end modeling and continuous innovation and breakthroughs, while focusing on the construction and performance optimization of distributed systems and machine learning systems.

Responsibilities
1. Explore cutting-edge NLP technologies: from basic word segmentation, NER, text, multi-modal pre-training, to business Query analysis, basic correlation, etc., full-link application of deep learning models, every detail is full of challenges;
2. Cross-modal matching technology: CV + NLP deep learning technology is applied in search to achieve powerful semantic understanding and retrieval capabilities for multi-modal video search;
3. Large-scale streaming machine learning technology: Apply large-scale machine learning to solve the recommendation problem in search, and make search more personalized and understand you;
4. 100-billion data-scale architecture: from large-scale offline computing, distributed system performance, scheduling optimization, to building high-availability, high-throughput, and low-latency online services, there are in-depth research and innovation in all aspects.
5. Recommendation technology: Based on ultra-large-scale machine learning technology, build an industry-leading search recommender system to explore and innovate search recommendation technology.

1. Participate in the research and development of the Byte Dance search engine, using the most cutting-edge machine learning algorithms and massive data to make the most exciting technology and give users the best search experience; here you can realize your architectural dreams without historical baggage;
2. Participate in the search and development of Jinri Toutiao/Douyin and other products, and serve hundreds of millions of users of related products;
3. Participate in the improvement of the search core architecture. Possible directions include:
(1) Design and develop data streams, distributed libraries, and online retrieval systems for hundreds of billions of web searches, and design industry-leading retrieval architectures;
(2) Design large-scale data processing platforms for different genres such as video, graphics, and e-commerce, and develop industry-leading search and database building systems and feature engineering.
(3) Design and develop high-availability search engine stability solutions, continuously optimize service performance, and provide high-throughput, low-latency, and high-availability search online services.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in the field of computer science or a related technical discipline
• Proficient coding skills and strong algorithm & data structure using C++/Python/Java
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in information retrieval, machine learning system development is preferred;
• Experience in distributed computing, storage systems, and development is a plus.
