Position: Marketing & Trading Manager (Crude Oil)
Reporting To: Head of Crude Oil

Position Objective

• Sell and dispose INPEX’s equity crude oil, condensate and LPG (collectively ‘Crudes’) stably as one of a trading arms and a front entity (INPEX Energy Trading Singapore Pte Ltd.(IETS))

• Endeavour to build and enhance the relationship and the trust with costumers and to explore new costumers of China, India, South East Asia and South Asia.

• Realize stable sales on the appropriate market price

• Build and enhance the marketing function and capability of IETS Develop strong working and reliable relationships with the Management team to build and enhance the sustainability and resilience in IETS, effectively communicating both in English and in Japanese
  

Requirements

• Master Degree from an internationally recognized institution of higher education

• Minimum 8 consecutive years of experience with a trading company in physical and derivative trading and Crudes operation

• High level proficiency in Japanese language (minimum JLPT N1) is a must to be able to understand written document (legal, contractual) and write extensive report in Japanese; the candidate must be able to conduct technical presentation in Japanese to non-English speaking stakeholders and/or attend confidential meetings with our senior management in Japan without help of interpreter. Record/updating the database related to the transactions is also in English and Japanese

• Proficiency in ETRM is a must , hands-on experience with Entrade is preferred

• Knowledge and professional experience handling of Upstream contract (Petroleum contract, PS contract, Service contract etc)

• Trading knowledge: market direction/call, trading strategies, trading fundamentals, global markets, arbitrage, market climate, keeps up to date with international events and geo-political climate

• Financial trading knowledge: risk analysis techniques, hedging /speculative / price forecasting instruments, such as, derivatives, futures, options, OTC, and various credit instruments.

• Well-connected with end-users and counterparties worldwide, especially with Crudes produced in Abu Dhabi, Australia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Angola, Republic of Congo and Brazil

• Ability to work independently, as well as being a good team player with good communication skills both in English and Japanese

• Superb command of English to conduct business without need of translator/interpreter to liaise English speaking counterparts and stakeholders as English is primary language in the industry

• Meticulous and pay attention to details to execute the duties, with a strong flair for numbers.
  

Marketing & Trading Manager is expected to be able to execute the following duties;
Responsible for marketing of physical Crudes and paper trading activities and operations followed to approved risk and resource limits, such as;

• Review and adhere to marketing/trading strategy on daily basis and monitor and adjust position based on risk exposure and trading volume limits

• Make marketing/trading decisions to maximise returns within company’s policies and procedures

• Execution of derivative transactions based on hedge plan prepared in accordance with company’s policies and procedures

• Trading system (Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) roles: input transactions in ETRM system, identify and correct mapping P&L and exposures, evaluate all open trading contracts and positions, i.e. identify the associated price exposures and develop a daily plan to hedge existing exposures

• Keep up-to-date on market information and knowledge management, and reflect market insights in trading strategies and positions

• Attend the necessary meeting with buyers, sellers, ICE and ADNOC relating IFAD Murban, Clearing House, Financial Institution (Clearing Member, OTC Broker), terminal operators, joint ventures partners, Operation team, Middle office team, LNG team, Finance and Administration Team and relating team in HQ etc

• Work closely with Operation team, INPEX upstream to ensure smooth operations and avoid curtailment of Crudes

• Work closely with Middle office team to ensure the appropriate derivative transaction in accordance with company’s policies and procedures

• Prepare market reports, business plans and performance targets as required

• Explore and develop new business opportunities in Asian region

• Other ad hoc assignments as necessary
