As a Product Policy Manager Lead - Model Policy in our Trust & Safety team, you will be leading a team of policy managers to develop and implement machine model and large language model (LLM) enforcement strategies for detecting and mitigating trust and safety risks. Your role will focus on ensuring moderation policies are fit for scalable, automated enforcement mechanisms across both LLM and machine models. You will work to continuously improve enforcement quality, enhance model transparency, and drive capability building in model transparency and AI safety within Trust & Safety.

You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the product, engineering, research, responsible AI, and legal teams to innovate and define safety approaches based on leading industry practices and latest market trends.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.

This may occur in the form of images, video, and text related to every-day life, but it can also include (but is not limited to) bullying; hate speech; child safety; depictions of harm to self and others, and harm to animals.

What will I be doing?

• Leading a high-performing team of Product Policy Managers to develop accurate, effective, fair, and transparent machine moderation.
• Establish clear safety and ethical guidelines for model training, informed by best practices and technical understanding of machine learning and generative AI techniques.
• Partner with relevant teams to maintain AI pipelines, optimize model deployment and scale implementation.
• Monitor and analyze user interactions with our AI products and deployment of AI models, to inform policy development and enforcement.
• Partner with product, engineering, research, ops, legal, and PR teams to innovate our safety approaches based on the latest developments and best practices.
• Conduct research to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in responsible AI development processes and find opportunities to integrate within AI models and products.

Qualifications
What should I bring with me?

Minumum Qualifications

• You have 3-5 years of experience working in technology, with exposure to model training, policy development, program management, and/or risk assessment.
• You have experience in managing or mentoring small to medium-sized teams that are diverse, multicultural, and international.
• You have a deep understanding and interest in the challenges and ethical considerations of AI model transparency, LLM moderation, and safety.
• You have a bachelors or masters degree in artificial intelligence, public policy, politics, law, economics, behavioural sciences, or related fields.
• You are a confident self-starter with excellent judgment, and can balance multiple trade-offs to develop principled, enforceable, and defensible policies and strategies.
• You have persuasive oral and written communication, with the ability to translate complex challenges into simple and clear language and persuade cross-functional partners in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often uncertain environment.

Preferred qualifications

• You have experience working with international partners across different time zones and cultures.
• Experience working in a start-up, or being part of new teams in established companies.
• Experience in prompt engineering.
