The Department of Economics at Stellenbosch University in South Africa invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in macroeconomics (with teaching obligations).
Applicants are expected to be dedicated academics, have a strong research agenda and be capable of publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals in macroeconomics. The primary responsibility of the postdoc is to conduct research in macroeconomics. The successful candidate will join the macroeconomic research team and contribute to the joint projects. The postdoc is also expected to teach postgraduate macroeconomics courses but will have ample time for independent work.
Requirements:

• Applicants must hold a Ph D degree in economics, specialising in dynamic macroeconomics. Applicants must have graduated within the last five years.
• Applicants must have a training background in dynamic macroeconomics and familiar with the contents of (at least) one of the following textbooks: “Advanced Macroeconomics” by David Romer; “Monetary Theory and Policy” by Carl Walsh, “Interest and Prices” by Michael Woodford, and “Recursive Macroeconomics” by Las Ljungqvist and Thomas Sargent.

Conditions:

• Two-year fixed term, subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory academic progress.
