Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Logistics Manager who will be responsible for managing the full logistics cycle, including the importation of raw materials and the exportation of finished goods, while overseeing finished goods warehouse operations. This role ensures that the supply chain process runs efficiently and compliantly, from the transportation of goods to warehouse management, while working closely with various departments to optimize performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Organising Shipments:

• Coordinating with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure goods are transported efficiently and on time.

Inventory Management:

• Monitoring stock levels, managing warehouses, and ensuring products are stored properly and accounted for.

Cost Control:

• Optimizing shipping routes, negotiating with carriers, and seeking cost-effective solutions while maintaining service quality.

Compliance

• Ensuring that all shipments comply with relevant regulations, including customs requirements, safety standards, and legal restrictions.

Team Management:

• Leading a team of warehouse workers, drivers, and other logistics staff, ensuring that operations run smoothly.

Problem Solving:

• Addressing issues such as delays, damages, or lost shipments, and implementing corrective actions.

Reporting and Data Analysis:

• Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and generating reports on costs, delivery times, and inventory levels to inform decision-making.

Technology Use:

• Implementing and managing logistics software to automate processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
• At least 5-10 years of experience in logistics management, including a strong background in import/export operations and warehouse management.
• Proven experience in managing and developing teams, with a track record of fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Hands-on experience with international shipping, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage warehouse operations, including implementing inventory control systems and optimizing storage solutions.
• Experience negotiating contracts and managing relationships with logistics providers and carriers.
• Applicants should be analytical, pay attention to detail, be solution focused, organized and focused on continuous improvement.
• Experience in the chemical industry will be advantageous.
