Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Lead Service Sales activities, for FHT and prioritize initiatives
  • Use and implement Service Sales tools – CRM, etc.
  • Operate in partnership with new equipment sales team to identify “up-sell” and “cross-sell” opportunities, to maximize revenue and improve overall customer experience.
  • Effect sales of GEA FHT equipment services for GEA Africa; representing the company in a professional manner in the fields of spare parts, repairs and field service
  • Travel to potential and existing customers - securing additional orders / agreements for spare parts, repairs, service projects, and field service.
  • The customer visits shall include necessary presentations / demonstrations as required to enhance the sales opportunity and promote GEA. These visits need to be planned on CRM and minutes included.
  • Actively promote smaller scale projects (Upgrades / Modernization) and assist with large project spare parts / repair orders – provide quotes, follow up and ensure the sale is executed in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the negotiation of offers, quotations, and SLA contracts (T&Cs)
  • This position requires a self-starter to complete tasks in a timeously manner, an individual with a mindset focused on continued improvement (“Hunter” mindset).
  • Develop ideas and create offers for sales and marketing to all accounts. Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by telephone, e-mail and personal visits.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support and liaising with internal order-processing staff.
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organizational development.
  • Attend training to develop relevant knowledge and skills.
  • Create a network of contacts across various disciplines that will provide advice on what resources are available both within and outside the organization.
  • Remain confident when dealing with negative situations, convince others to have ideas and create new options, as well as encouraging and enthusing them to come up with imaginative solutions to difficult problems.

Your profile and qualifications:

  • Technical or commercial qualification or N-Dip Mechanical Engineering +2 years’ experience in Food Processing Equipment or 5-6 Years Experience in industrial Food processing with Project Management or Technical Service Sales
  • Minimum work experience of 5-years in technical support role
  • Sound Knowledge of GEA Service Sales Tools
  • Ability to select equipment and to do basic design checks.
  • English and Afrikaans (proficient),
  • Good negotiation skills
