Software Development Manager

Purpose of position

• Lead and manage the software R&D team in Sweden.
  
• Contribute as a member of the PTAB leadership team.
  

Key stakeholders

• Director of Software R&D
  
• GM of PTAB and Leadership team of PTAB
  

Main responsibilities

• Design and implement features for Packsizes software product (50%)
  
• Lead/Manage HR for the software resources in Sweden (50%)
  
• Develop and expand the Swedish Software team
  
• Report to Director of Global Software R&D
  

Mandate

• Search, interview and hire approved resources
  
• Approve purchase up to personal approval limit
  
• Approval for salary strategy within the software team in Sweden.
  

Job duties

• Design and implement features for Packsize software products
  
• Maintain Packsize software products
  
• Provide Pager Duty Support for Packnet servies
  
• Search and interview new hires for the Swedish team
  
• Mentor more junior colleagues on the team
  
• Work on personal development goals with resources on the team
  
• Enforce and maintain the software development principles, ways of working
  
• Collaborate with the other software teams leaders within Packsize to ensure that the teams are working toward the same goal.
  
• Manage team backlog along with Product to provide effective solutions to problems
  
• This position requires some travel to work with leaders and other teams within Packsize
  
• Additional software development duties within Packsize.
  

Competences

• Excellent understanding of OOP, C#, Mongo, Rabbit MQ, React
  
• Excellent understanding of Cloud and microservice development
  
• Experience with CI/CD and trunk based development
  
• +10 years of software development experience
  
• +5 years in leadership position
  
• Good understanding of test driven development, LEAN Software Methodologies
  
• Good interpersonal skills
  
• Good leadership skills
  

Level of education

• Software Engineering
  
• University Degree is preferred
  

Objectives

• Make sure that the Swedish software team is motivated, happy and as efficient as possible
  
• Remove blockers for the Swedish software engineers
  
• Coordinate with key stakeholders and teams throughout Packsize (Product, Support, Delivery
