The company’s short-term priorities include building up out of engineering team, putting into place production facilities, and creating a north American subsidiary.
At H55, you will work with a very forward-looking team who are changing the paradigms of air transportation. H55 is composed of highly experienced engineers, entrepreneurs and managers and is seeking like mind talented professionals who understand how to couple creativity and innovation with technical and business considerations.
Your Role
As part of our Engineering team, we are looking to hire a Chief Engineer, reporting to the Head of Design Organistion (HDO) . The Chief Engineer’s perimeter is covering system to parts (up to electronic board or software) and has the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Responsible to deliver the overall solution for a system or sub-system; on time, cost and quality.
- Responsible for the overall architecture, including the management all product trades and new technology introduction.
- Responsible to ensure the design to meet all requirements.
- Responsible for the certification, qualification and testing strategy.
- Responsible for product change management.
- First technical point of contact for the program manager, management and the customer throughout the life of the product.
- Chair and facilitator of milestone reviews.
- You are supported by the team leaders in the creation and maintenance of schedules.
- Approve configured baseline for production (system shipset).
- University degree (Master’s Degree) in a relevant engineering discipline (System Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems).
- Thorough knowledge of the involved engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in the aviation sector typically 5+ years, bringing projects to successful completion.
- Technical / engineering experience in aviation/aerospace with direct client management/engagement.
- Broad knowledge of other engineering disciplines, HW/SW development, mechanical engineering to assess/coordinate the product development cycle on a high level.
- Good understanding of certification and production methods and standards in aviation.
- Management skills, resources and budget.
- Strong understanding of the company’s key competitive strengths - technology, pricing, manufacturing capabilities, plans to scale, etc. - and being able to use these qualifications for identifying, engaging and increasing the company’s customer base.
- Hands-on execution management
- Driven by team spirit and transparent cooperative communication style
- Dispose of an entrepreneurial and strategic thinking ability; has a high level of synthesis capacity
- Ability to seamlessly work independently as well as in close cooperation with different organization centers in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized with strong multi-tasking competencies
- Solution- and result-focused and works in KPI-driven organizations
- Illustrates strong customer focus / mind-set
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) and if possible, in French and German
- Boasts pragmatic and problem-solving oriented attitude
- Consensual personality with visible interpersonal qualities
- At ease and comfortable with fast commercially growing small high-tech companies where product and technology offerings still need to be matured and proven in the market.
