Department Summary
This internship position resides in the global Device and Packaging Development (PTDZ) of Roche Pharmaceutical Technical Development (PTD). The position is located onsite at the Global headquarter of Roche in Basel, Switzerland.

The global Packaging Development team is responsible for designing and qualifying primary and secondary packaging systems for Roche global pipeline molecules from Phase 1 to commercial launch, including solid dosage forms, injectable and combination products. The team is also responsible for driving global packaging initiatives such as platform packaging designs, aligning global packaging network best practices, and identifying new packaging technologies.

Required Education: You meet one of the following criteria:

• Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
  
• Must have completed a Master’s Degree within 12 months before the start of the internship
  
• Due to regulations, non-EU/non-EFTA citizens without either a B permit with work permit or a C permit need to provide a certificate of enrollment, as well as a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory and stating the length of it.
  

Required majors: Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical, Packaging Engineering or related field

Required skills:

• Knowledge of secondary packaging and related equipment and processes / pharmaceutical equipment validation/qualification processes is preferred
  
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and industry standards for packaging (e.g. ASTM D4169, D7386, ISO-11607) is a plus
  
• Knowledge of computer systems including TOPS, CAD or Solidworks, Microsoft tools including MS project and Adobe
  
• Project management skills and experience in cross-functional projects is a plus
  
• Design thinking and design management
  
• English language proficiency required, knowledge of German is an asset.
