PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
This vacancy notice will be used to establish a roster of qualified candidates for the position of HR Assistant in WHO Headquarters, Geneva. Placement on the roster does not guarantee appointment to a position. Decisions on selection and appointment will be taken through a separate process.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The Department of Human Resources and Talent Management (HRT) is responsible for providing a sound, well managed, responsive and efficient organization-wide Human Resources Management strategy and global HR advisory services which support the work of WHO and its member states, encompassing, but not limited to: HR Policy Coordination and Development, Talent Acquisition and Management, Organizational Design and Job Classification, HR Business Partnering, application to the UN Common system's Compensation and Benefits, Administration of Internal Justice, Global Staff/Management relations, representation of WHO in inter-agency UN Common System HR initiatives.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Within the framework of the delegated authority, the incumbent is assigned all or part of the following responsibilities: Support sourcing by screening and evaluation of applicants, preparing and maintaining files for candidates: 1. Ensure completion of pre-recruitment and recruitment formalities including clearances, travel arrangements and documentation, liaising with the applicant and receiving office. 2. Initiate staff and consultant contracts in WHO Global Management System (GSM) according to Staff Regulations and Rules, E-Manual and emergency Standard Operating Procedures. 3. Provide assistance to staff on entitlements, conditions of service and deployment procedures. Reply to queries from staff, non staff and managers. 4. File and update data in the appropriate system (EMS2, Sharepoint, ECM, Stellis, GSM,e PMDS) to allow tracking and reporting for all aspects of HR management and administration. Produce HR related statistics and prepare periodic reports upon request. 5. Provide support for recruitment related meetings and video conferences 6. Upon request provide support,backstopping and gap-filling for emergency activities at any level of the Organization or scale of emergency. 7. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: Completion of secondary school education or equivalent.
Desirable: Higher education degree in human resources or management studies.

Experience
Essential: At least 5 years of relevant experience in administrative support work of which at least three years in HR administration.
Desirable: Considerable experience in emergency operations. Experience in recruitment and/or international travel administration.

REMUNERATION
WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at CHF 78,737 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
