Field Service Technician

Global Water Solutions has a vacancy for Field Service Technician to join our committed GWS Asia Office workforce based in Taichung. We are seeking a customer-oriented and technical person with a solid background in engineer and a predisposition for travels.

The Field Service Technician will support the Quatreau Smart Tap business in the APAC region. This role addresses immediate operational needs involving existing Quatreau Smart Tap installation and will assist the APAC sales team build the technical support foundation needed to grow our Quatreau Smart Tap in Taiwan and expand into other APAC regional markets. The role will be responsible for providing Quatreau Smart Tap (and RO) installation services, provide after-sales technical support, and train others regarding Quatreau installation, maintenance and technical support in Taiwan and throughout the APAC region.
The Field Service Technician will report directly to the Director of Business Enhancement based in Taichung and will collaborate with an international team. The position is based in our GWS Asia Office in Taichung, Taiwan.

Your Responsibilities:
- Perform installations and provide maintenance for Quatreau drinking water systems across the APAC region;
- Deliver effective technical support and troubleshooting to maximize system functionality and customer satisfaction;
- Develop and conduct training programs for customer technicians on the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Quatreau systems;
- Travel within the APAC region to perform installations, support, and training;
- Stay informed about product developments and integrate new technologies and methods into service practices;
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team in the UK for initial and ongoing training and development;
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for installations, troubleshooting procedures, and customer training materials;
- Assist the sales team in technical presentations or demos to potential clients, especially during trade shows or when launching new products;
- Anticipate potential issues or bottlenecks in the installation or support phases and propose innovative solutions to prevent them;
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including coordinating with other departments, managing timelines, and ensuring resource availability;
- The position requires an initial training period at the Quatreau Manufacturing facility in the UK; candidates must be prepared for international travel and training;
- Understand the health and safety standards applicable in commercial kitchens and hospitality environments
- Demonstrated technical proficiency, ideally in drinking water systems or related technical fields;
- Proficiency in Mandarin to effectively communicate with local teams and customers within Taiwan and other Mandarin-speaking regions;
- Good command of English, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information and train others;
- Proficiency in additional languages common in the APAC region, such as Korean, Thai, Bahasa could be highly beneficial;
- Readiness to travel extensively across the APAC region;
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong customer service orientation;
- Prior experience in technical roles with responsibilities for installation, maintenance, and problem resolution;
- Experience working in diverse cultural settings is desirable, with a high value placed on cultural adaptability and collaborative skills;
- Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, as installations and maintenance in commercial settings, like hotels and restaurants, often need to be conducted during off-peak hours to minimize disruption.
