Honeywell Mechanical Systems Engineer

We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to join us at Honeywell in Turkey, Ankara. The Mechanical Systems Engineer would work for the Honeywell Life Support System Engineering group and will report to the Yeovil (UK) System Engineering Manager.
The role would primarily support Aircraft Life Support Systems and Environmental Control Systems but may also be required to support other aircraft systems & equipment. The role would be located at a customers facility in Ankara and the Mechanical Systems Engineer will be expected to work both independently and within a cross-functional team environment. The successful candidate will be a customer technical and programme point of contact and will be required to interface with global Honeywell resources. Occasional travel to Honeywell sites may be required.
Systems Engineering at Honeywell Aerospace is an interdisciplinary role that focuses on the design and development of complex systems including Aircraft Bleed Air Management & Life Support Oxygen systems, where a ‘system’ is understood to be an integration of subsystems or components working together toward a common objective. Core technologies include turbomachinery, electro-mechanical valves, heat exchangers, oxygen generation and storage equipment, breathing regulation equipment and associated electronic controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Primary technical and program point of contact for the customer
• Co-ordinate the review and negotiation of customer requirements and customer changes / modifications
• Support Honeywell requirements management activities, including system and equipment specifications and related validation and verification activities, and co-ordinate discussions with the customer when required.
• Support the generation of customer DRL submittals, for example interface control documents, system descriptions, etc.
• Co-ordination of DRL submissions and resolution of customer comments
• Internal Honeywell status reporting and consolidation of customer feedback
• Liaising closely with other Honeywell functions, including Project & Programme Management, Design, Test, Analysis, Reliability & System Safety, Electronic Controls, Chief Engineers and Manufacturing as and when necessary.

YOU MUST HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Systems Engineering. However, other relevant degrees or equivalent qualifications would be considered along with experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in mechanical systems engineering design and development.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of pneumatic or mechanical system design principles and methodologies.
• Experience in requirements management, validation and verification
• Have a positive attitude and good problem-solving skills

WE VALUE

• Experience of working with Aircraft Life Support System & Environmental Control System products would be useful.
• However, experience with other pneumatic or mechanical products would also be considered and assessed on merit.
• Knowledge of thermodynamic and fluid dynamic theory and practice.
• Experience with systems analysis and simulation tools.
• Experience with product testing.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices
