United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) College of Business & Economics (CBE) is looking for an Instructor in Entrepreneurship. United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is the first university established in the UAE and has a long history of graduating Emirati students across a very wide range of disciplines. With a main campus in Al Ain, UAEU has been in operation since 1977. Currently ranked 5th in the Arab World, 27th amongst universities under 50 years old and 288th by the QS Ranking Worldwide, UAEU is a comprehensive university offering courses across 9 Colleges including Medicine, Law, IT, Engineering, Education, Science, Food & Agriculture and Humanities, in addition to Business. The College of Business & Economics offers an English-medium education encompassing 5 undergraduate programs, 3 post-graduate programs and 82 faculty from 34 different countries. In the year 2000, UAEU was the first University in the region to achieve AACSB accreditation, which is awarded to only the top 5% of the world’s business schools. Added to this, the College hosts the only Accounting Program in the region accredited by AACSB. As well as this range of undergraduate offerings, the College’s postgraduate program offerings include the MBA, MPA, DBA and Executive Education available across the College campuses in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi. The University, and the College, is very focused on continuing to be the leading university in the country and to be the leading College of Business in the region. To this end, all appointments to the College are important. For the instructor position, a Master’s degree is expected, in addition to experience in teaching undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship and related subjects, is expected, preferably from working at an AACSB-accredited university. Industry experience is also appreciated. The instructor’s position is not an academic track position, meaning it is not a stepping stone to Assistant Professor, but is a stand-alone position. Ability to communicate well with a range of different nationalities and personalities is a must, as well as a collegial outlook. Hard work and patience are appreciated personal qualities. The Entrepreneurship programme at UAEU is one which is expanding rapidly. We offer the compulsory General Education course in Entrepreneurship to students across the Colleges, as well as a Minor in Entrepreneurship and courses for students in our own College, especially those majoring in Entrepreneurship. We are in the process of revamping our entire concentration offering at the College level, and are interested in hiring vigorous and engaged faculty to assist with the quality delivery of this, and all, of our Entrepreneurship programmes.
