Job Summary: The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety policies and procedures at fit-out project sites. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety among workers and subcontractors.

Job Summary: The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety policies and procedures at fit-out project sites. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety among workers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management:
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Training and Awareness:
- Provide safety training and orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and other personnel.
- Organize and conduct safety drills, workshops, and toolbox talks to promote safety awareness and practices.
- Risk Assessment:
- Perform risk assessments and safety audits on-site to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are available, in good condition, and properly used.
- Compliance:
- Stay updated on current safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal safety laws and regulations.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Prepare and submit safety reports and documentation as required by management or regulatory agencies.
- Emergency Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
- Act as a point of contact for emergency situations and coordinate response efforts.
Education and Certifications:
- Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Certifications: Relevant safety certifications such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), or equivalent.
- Experience Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within the construction or fit-out industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards specific to fit-out and construction projects.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with workers, management, and regulatory agencies.
- Analytical: Strong analytical skills for conducting risk assessments and investigating incidents.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential safety issues and develop practical solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure thoroughness in safety inspections and documentation.
- Leadership: Ability to lead safety initiatives and influence others to adhere to safety practices.
- Adaptability: Capable of working in a dynamic environment and adapting to changing project needs.
- Integrity: Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
