Job Summary: The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and overseeing safety policies and procedures at fit-out project sites. The role involves ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety among workers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:

• Safety Management:
• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
• Training and Awareness:
• Provide safety training and orientations for new employees, subcontractors, and other personnel.
• Organize and conduct safety drills, workshops, and toolbox talks to promote safety awareness and practices.
• Risk Assessment:
• Perform risk assessments and safety audits on-site to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are available, in good condition, and properly used.
• Compliance:
• Stay updated on current safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
• Ensure that all work is conducted in compliance with local, state, and federal safety laws and regulations.
• Documentation:
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
• Prepare and submit safety reports and documentation as required by management or regulatory agencies.
• Emergency Response:
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
• Act as a point of contact for emergency situations and coordinate response efforts.

Qualifications
Education and Certifications:

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant safety certifications such as NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), or equivalent.

Experience:

• Experience Required: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within the construction or fit-out industry.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards specific to fit-out and construction projects.

Skills:

• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with workers, management, and regulatory agencies.
• Analytical: Strong analytical skills for conducting risk assessments and investigating incidents.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential safety issues and develop practical solutions.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure thoroughness in safety inspections and documentation.
