Manufacturing Manager
Salary: Up to £72,000 + bonus
Job Type: Permanent
Rittal-CSM are looking for a proactive Manufacturing Manager, to oversee the Production leaders, and have overall responsibility for the Rittal-CSM Manufacturing process, from raw materials to wrapped finished goods.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for 24-hour three shift working in Sheet Metal, Paint Plant and Assembly, the Manufacturing Manager has overall responsibility for 400+ staff supported directly by 3 shift managers.
As a key member of the senior management team, you will work closely in conjunction with support departments to lead a range of key business and departmental metrics.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of the Company’s manufacturing strategy.
Key expectations and responsibilities:
Manufacturing Lead
Working with the Directors and the Senior Management Group, the Manufacturing Manager has responsibility for the design, development and execution of a Manufacturing strategy aligned to the company’s purpose and vision. Key elements of this strategy will be:
· The Manufacturing flexibility to react quickly and effectively to fluctuating sales demand from OEM customers.
· The structures and disciplines required to provide reliable and sustainable results across all key business metrics.
· The effective management of resources and systems to ensure a competitive and cost-effective Manufacturing process.
· A people centred management and leadership system designed to ensure team member safety and process disciplines, while engaging the workforce in the achievement of key business objectives.
Production Management
· Responsible for (24 hour) daily Manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules are met with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
· Responsible for the management of resources across the sheet metal, powder coating, and assembly operations to optimise workflow.
· Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive performance improvements.
Management and Leadership of the Production Management and Supervisory team
Having an effective and highly competent management and supervisory structure and team is fundamental to having a high-performing Manufacturing department. Towards this end the Manufacturing Manager will provide exemplary Manufacturing leadership, coaching and management. They will ensure their team has clearly defined business goals, with the knowledge, skills and attitude required to achieve departmental metrics. They will ensure the Manufacturing management and supervisory team have individual development plans designed to provide a robust succession pipeline.
Health, Safety and Employee Welfare
Ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and employee welfare is a key element of the Manufacturing Manager’s role. Towards this end, they will work closely in conjunction with the Health and Safety and Human Resource departments to lead, develop and sustain a pro-active, safety-first culture and environment within the Manufacturing department.
Zero accidents is the target for our manufacturing departments.
Quality and Customer Focus
Providing the highest level of product quality expected by our customers on a consistent basis is a key element of the Manufacturing Manager’s role. Towards this end they will work closely in conjunction with the Quality department to lead, develop and sustain a pro-active, quality and customer focused culture and environment within the Manufacturing department.
Zero customer complaints is a realistic target for our manufacturing departments.
Delivery reliability
Rittal-CSM must be relied on by our customers to deliver their products on-time, in the correct quantity and to the required standards. Working in conjunction with other members of the Senior Management Group and through the effective management and leadership of the Manufacturing department management and supervisory team, the Manufacturing Manager must ensure the achievement of all key delivery reliability targets and delivery of any NPI requirements.
Cost control and Productivity
Ensuring the effective management of resources, and the systems required to Lead the control of costs within budget is a key element of the Manufacturing Manager’s role. Towards this end they will ensure the Manufacturing management and supervisory team maintain and improve the shop-floor disciplines required to achieve this budget objective.
Achieving and exceeding Productivity targets is a fundamental aspect of cost control within Production, so towards this end the Manufacturing Manager will lead the focus on key metrics supporting Productivity.
People

Towards this end the Manufacturing Manager will ensure the Manufacturing management and supervisory team monitor, coach and apply all systems and procedures required to support the achievement of key business aims and objectives.
Continuous Improvement and Future Planning
At all times, the Manufacturing Manager will be planning ahead, working in conjunction with the Directors and other members of the Senior Management Group to drive continuous improvement and to develop and implement future state planning covering the next 1 – 3 years period. They will be accountable for the delivery of scheduled CIP activities and responsible for the Manufacturing department succession planning.

Our Maintenance Team have an opportunity for a Maintenance Robot Engineer to join their growing team. Training will be given on each robot and automation cell therefore previous Robotic experience is not essential.
