Overview
The Network and Cloud Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing both network infrastructure and cloud-based solutions for our clients. This role demands a strong understanding of networking principles, cloud technologies, and security protocols. The specialist will work closely with clients to ensure their network and cloud environments are secure, efficient, and scalable.
Duties
Network Infrastructure Management
- Design, deploy, and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize the network for maximum efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure network security through proper configuration and regular updates of security appliances.
- Implement network segmentation, load balancing, and traffic management solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their networking needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Design and implement cloud-based solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) tailored to client requirements.
- Migrate on-premises systems and applications to cloud environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Manage and optimize cloud resources to control costs and improve performance.
- Implement and manage cloud security measures, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance monitoring.
- Automate cloud infrastructure deployment and management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Conduct regular security audits of both network and cloud environments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Implement and manage security protocols such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and DDo S protection.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends and threats, advising clients on best practices for protecting their data and systems.
- Provide technical support to clients, addressing issues related to networking and cloud services.
- Collaborate with other IT specialists, developers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of network and cloud solutions.
- Train clients' in-house teams on the use and management of network and cloud systems.
- Participate in regular meetings with clients to review performance, discuss future needs, and propose improvements.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network and cloud infrastructure, configurations, and changes.
- Generate reports on network performance, cloud usage, and security incidents for both internal use and client review.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, methodologies, and best practices in networking and cloud computing.
- Engage in continuous learning through certifications, training sessions, and attending industry conferences.
- Proactively propose new solutions and improvements to enhance service offerings.
A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar.
Skills
Proven experience in network administration and cloud solutions management.
Strong understanding of network protocols, security measures, and cloud architectures.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
