Who we are
Risk management across CDP is supported by a small team, making this role critical to the success of the charity. The role’s main purpose is to support the Director, Risk & Compliance balance the competing aims of advising CDP teams on improving the management of uncertainty, whilst also holding the organization to account in the management of risk. An important element of this role is the administration of CDP’s Insurance Register to ensure CDP is covered by the right insurance at the right price.
Secondary to risk this role also supports the Director, Risk & Compliance discharge their business ethics responsibilities including the administration and continuous improvement of ethics programs such as Conflicts of Interest, Whistleblowing, and Gifts & Hospitality.
Finally, given the Risk & Compliance team is small this role may be called upon to help compliance and privacy teammates when the need arrives. This may include compliance assurance / audit of CDP functions under the supervision of either the Compliance or Privacy Managers.


Who you are

• Quantitative and Qualitative risk analysis experience.
  
• Ability to be flexible and agile to changing conditions, with strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive, clear, concise reports, and communication effectively at all levels.
• Be able to maintain objectivity and impartiality and be committed to integrity and ethical values. Importantly, be able to search out the truth and speak that truth to power.
• The intellect and character to seek out problems, develop insightful and pragmatic solutions and communicate them effectively to deliver control/process improvements.

• Post qualification experience in professional risk management, business processes and internal controls knowledge and understanding from a risk, finance, audit, or equivalent field.
  
• Enterprise Risk Management and 3 Lines Model experience/expertise.
  
• Risk Management or equivalent professional certification (examples include Enterprise Risk Management Certified Professional (ERMCPP), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP), Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ICAS or similar), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered or Certified Internal Auditor (CMIIA or CIA)).

Your day-to-day

• Support the Director, Risk & Compliance to implement enterprise risk management across CDP’s global footprint.
• Provide risk analysis support to ensure risks are described better and thus prioritized and managed appropriately.
• Support the Director, Risk & Compliance to deliver a Governance, Risk & Compliance support capability. It is envisaged this this will require an ‘Invitation To Tender’ approach.
• Support and appropriately challenge first line managers on risk identification and risk assessment including the identification and facilitation of discussions around emerging risks with senior leaders, including members of the CDP Executive Team.
• Advise and guide risk and control owners on risk management best practice.
• Develop and lead training on risk management and risk mitigations and controls design techniques.
• Support the Director, Risk & Compliance to deliver a cost-effective Insurance portfolio across CDP’s various entities.
• Working with the Director Risk & Compliance and in concert with other charity functions, develop a business ethics capability including Conflicts of Interest, Gifts & Hospitality, and Whistleblowing.
• Monitor the landscape for legal, regulatory, and other operational changes that could impact CDP.
• Support the Compliance Manager and undertake compliance reviews and internal audits, raising recommendation and tracking subsequent actions.
