Job summary
This is an outstanding opportunity offered within the Logistics Dept (Logs), and is varied, rewarding and exciting! Do you have the drive to provide catering support? Continuous At Sea Deterrence is one of the Royal Navy’s key outputs. 43 Cdo FPGRM delivers protection to this capability as well as providing support to Commando Force’s operations. Within 43 Cdo Logistics Department providing essential logistical support to all aspects of the unit, enabling operational commitments to endure.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
Provide support to enable 43 Cdo to meet their mission and tasks.


Operating within the unit Clothing and Equipment (G1098)Stores Office/storeroom, the Post Holder will process stores related documentation (demands, issues and receipts) in accordance with MOD accounting procedures using MOD accounting systems(training will be provided) to maintain up-to-date and accurate stock records. Working as part of a mixed military and civilian team the post holder will assist in the practical management of unit storerooms, and the safe/secure handling/storage/control of stock items. Being compliant with current Safety Health Environment and Fire (SHEF) regulations within the working environment. The position is customer-facing requiring the post holder to interact with unit personnel in the supply of clothing and equipment stock items during store opening hours.



Person specification
We are looking for a well organised and enthusiastic candidate who enjoys working in a team as well being as being confident working alone and a part of a dynamic team of Military and civilians supporting the unit to carrying out their operational duties.
The ideal candidate may have experience working in warehouse or stores but full training can be provided making this an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a new career in the Civil Service!
The successful candidate will be able to apply basic maths and written English and proficient in the use of various IT Software applications including Office 365.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
