Security Apprentice

Do you want to learn and gain a qualification while starting a rewarding career in Security Management? Then look no further, we have an exciting 'Security Apprentice' role for you!
This is Level-3 apprenticeship which will help you gain specialist knowledge in understanding the threat, vulnerability and risk on a local, national and international security basis and how to respond accordingly.
On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be fully equipped to be Security First Line Manager who will be responsible for supervising people and activities in line with regulatory requirements, undertaking security risk assessments, providing security advice on security methods, operations and activities, incident management, planning stakeholder management, business communications and data security management.
During your apprenticeship at KAM, you will contribute to the delivery of activities in line with the regulatory framework; undertaking threat vulnerability assessments and contribute to providing security advice to the business. To do so, you will work under the direction of the Security Specialist who will support you to ensure that you have the knowledge, skills and behaviours to be successful in your role.
Duration:
The apprenticeship will last for 2 years. This will be a combination of on the job learning alongside receiving training from an industry specialist Training provider.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Supporting the Security Team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM) in gathering intelligence and data from various sources; ensuring that all the correct reporting processes are followed.
- Learning to apply security deployment tactics to support in deterring criminal activity across Metrolink Network.
- Improving compliance with Counter-Terrorism legislation to business practices.
- Providing support to the development of Light Rail Security Programmes.
- Contribute to building an inclusive culture, taking a zero-tolerance approach to behaviours and attitudes that don't support equality, diversity and inclusion ethos.
- Ensure own health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace, ensuring the zero harm principles and just culture is demonstrated in all ways of working.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
- Ensuring key learning and assessment milestones of the apprenticeship are met.
- Be 18 years or older.
- GCSEs or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics (Grade 4/ C or above)
