In-Person Tutor Required for Maths, English, Functional Skills, Science - KS3-KS4

At Tutor Doctor, we understand that every student learns differently, which is why our tutors excel at developing personalised plans for each individual they tutor. We are looking for tutors to provide in-person tuition in Maths, English, Functional Skills and ideally Science to our students who are not currently in mainstream education for various reasons. Tuition will need to be provided in person either at the student’s home environment (in the presence of an adult parent) or at a local public library. Tuition will need to be delivered during school hours on weekdays.
This position will suit a qualified teacher, teacher trainee, TA or suitably qualified graduate.
Requirements:

• Prior experience of teaching both Maths and English (and ideally Science) up to GCSE level in the UK.
• Knowledge of the UK Curriculum.
• Available during school hours.
• Understanding and experience of working with SEN students (ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, and mental health challenges).
• Must live within close vicinity of Colchester, Clacton-on-Sea, or Maldon (Essex).
• Must be self-employed.
• Possession of an Enhanced DBS is an advantage.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to accept Tier 4 applicants.
Position Details:

• Number of hours per day will depend on the individual student and will range from 1-3 hours per day, three to five days a week.
• The position will suit someone used to taking an independent approach, quickly assessing the student’s learning and educational needs, and building a plan for effective tutoring.
