The Lansdowne Club is a private members’ Club in Mayfair, London, opening its doors to both men and women in 1935 and thriving today with over 8500 Members worldwide. Striving to be the best social, sports and residential Club in London, the amenities include: 73 bedrooms, fine dining restaurant, brasserie, café, ballroom, 6 function rooms and top of the range sports facilities including a swimming pool, steam room, squash courts, fencing, gym, studio and treatments. The Lansdowne Club, a prestigious Member’s Club in the heart of Mayfair has a fantastic opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic Receptionist/ Sports Attendant to join their team.
Reporting to the Head of Sports, you will be working on Sports Reception and you will be the first point of contact for our members therefore a good level of spoken and written English is essential. You will be greeting and welcoming the guest accordance to the agreed procedure.
Additional and non exhaustive list of responsibilities of the role are:
· To ensure that every person using the Sports Area has checked in, paid the correct fees, and been recorded on the computer correctly.
· Checking availability of appointments for the Personal Trainers and Therapists and taking bookings and payments via JAM and EMMA.
· Answer all incoming calls and emails in a professional, efficient and friendly manner
· To ensure a safe and user-friendly environment within the Sports Area.
· Making sure all safety rules are followed correctly (i.e., registration forms are to be completed)
· To attend any training or meetings.
· Ensure pool tests are done at the allocated times in the Plant room are recorded and any discrepancies are reported to Maintenance.
· Liaising with the maintenance team about any problems in the Sports Area and that every problem is logged in the Club concierge.
· Ensure the security and confidentiality of information relating to the Club business and performance in accordance with agreed procedures.
· Stock takes every month of the products sold and complete a purchase order for any replenishments.
· To be proactive with all aspects of the work. Identifying areas that need attending, recognising possible problems and seeking solutions to rectify them.
· Re-stock all work areas items when they need replacing.
· To carry out any reasonable requests asked by the Head of Sports or H.O.D/Manager of the Club.
· Be aware of Health & Safety Legislation in relation to your role and ensure that you follow all H&S policies & procedures.
· To ensure that member laundry is cleaned, dried and returned to the member lockers and towel stock takes are completed monthly.
· To ensure all areas of sports are fully stocked with the appropriate products
· To ensure maintenance is performed on all gym machines, as per the maintenance schedule.
· To provide gym inductions and gym programs, on condition that you hold the relevant qualifications.
· Providing you have the sufficient qualifications, cover take/exercise classes.
· To hold a relevant NPLQ qualification and attend continuous training
· To be present on the poolside as a lifeguard, ensuring members safety
· Ensure pool tests are done at the allocated times & are recorded and any discrepancies are reported to Maintenance.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar environment and will not be a stranger to multi-tasking in a busy environment.
An interest in health and fitness is preferable and the opportunity to supplement your income with personal training would be possible given the right candidate.
