What does the job involve?
An experienced support worker is needed to support a 7 year old boy with autism. The young boy is non verbal and wears nappies . The support will mainly be needed in the morning to prepare him to school and have him ready when the school bus comes to pick him up at 8h00 . (washing, getting dressed, breakfast ).
Hours / days: 6 hours a week term time and 10 hours a week during school holidays
Mon-Fri from 7 to 8h
The additional hours will be flexible
Pay rate: £13.50
Skills / experience / qualifications required:
The ideal candidate should have previous experience working with children with special needs and possess a calm, kind and caring disposition.
The ideal candidate will be punctual and needs to be able to work on a flexible basis.
The candidate should be trustworthy, very compassionate and respectful. They will need to have a professional work ethic with the highest regard to confidentiality and discretion.
A level 2 Diploma in Health and Social care is desirable and several years experience working with special needs children is essential .The young boy is prone to meltdowns and is quick to run away so experience of dealing with those type of situations is a must
The candidate will need to keep the child safe at all times and support the family mainly in the mornings
