About the Position
The Accountant I is responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly transactions, account reconciliations, and month-end journal entries.

About the Position
The Accountant I is responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly transactions, account reconciliations, and month-end journal entries.
Responsibilities
- Processes accounts payable and tracks inventory orders.
- Enters transaction batches into the Great Plains Accounting system.
- Performs GL account reconciliations.
- Daily cash, sales, backorder, etc. reporting as requested.
- Completes wire transfers.
- Downloads and analyzes bank and vendor reports as needed.
- Performs cost and other account analysis as needed.
- Completes journal entries, schedules and financial analysis for month-end closing and reporting.
- Completes journal entries and schedules for year-end closing, audit and reporting.
- Maintains chart of accounts and prepares financial statements.
- Assists with the year end audit pulling samples.
- Additional Accounting and reporting tasks as needed.
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Great Plains accounting software, QOP database.
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Good customer service skills to work with Venus customers, co-workers, and vendors.
- Understands basic accounting principles, practices and procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, with 1+ year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
