Overview:
Responsibilities:

• Directly supervises Youth Specialists in daily facilitation of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program.
• Responsible for training, developing and evaluating line staff (Youth Specialists).
• Enforces facility rules and regulations; Monitors and evaluates students’ progress. Guides line staff and students in the development of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program.
• Implements the hands on daily operations of the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program.
• Works closely with and coordinates with collateral agencies, school district staff, probation staff and Administrators.
• Fills in for Site Supervisor as needed overseeing site supervision.
• Monitors performance of juveniles relating to completion of physical requirements.
• Ensures adherence to safety requirements.
• Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Two years experience in a direct care position working with juveniles. Experience working within a treatment oriented, behavior modification or adolescent/juvenile program preferred.
• Requires interpersonal oral and written communication skills.
• Management of juvenile offenders.
• Desire and patience in working with juveniles with a variety of challenges, some severe, in a therapeutically oriented program.
• Ability to guide and supervise staff.
• CPR First Aid Certification and Handle with Care Certification.
